GEOLOGY 470 Geological Development Of North America

A detailed inquiry into the stratigraphic framework of North America with special emphasis on orogenic and epirogenic events reflected in Phanerozoic rock associations. Through lectures, discussion and outside readings, the student is afforded a working knowledge of the continent's major tectonic provinces and their evolution. Prerequisite: Geology 325, 342, 350.
